Plengkung Beach Banyuwangi

Plengkung beach, or better known as the G-Land, is a beach located in the National Park Alas Purwo, Banyuwangi, East Java. Plengkung can be achieved for a half day journey overland from Bali. Plengkung beach can also be reached by chartered boat from Bali.

In 1972, a group of surfers from the United States organized an expedition to go Plengkung. This expedition was followed by eight groups of surfers. Three of them left with a rented boat while 5 other groups overland. The group traveled overland to arrive in the village Grajagan. From Grajagan, they cover a distance of 20 kilometers to reach Plengkung the way down the coastal waters using a surfboard. After skipping the hard drive and lack of clean water (clean water they collect rainwater when it rains and is attached to the screen boat), the group that wore a rented boat landed directly in Plengkung. Shortly after arriving, they set up a base camp for the purposes of reviewing the surf spot. They exist in Plengkung for 10 days.

Waves tend to be bigger and better at high tide, so the best time to plan a surf trip was a week after the full moon or new moon, because in these times of high waves occurs for half a day.

Plengkung beach can be reached by land route from Surabaya to Banyuwangi. You can also use air transportation, both from Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Makassar, to Batam, to be able to land at the airport and arrived in Banyuwangi Blimbingsari. Next, you should take a trip to the National Park Alas Purwo.

The journey from Banyuwangi towards Plengkung can be done via two routes. First, the route Banyuwangi - Kalipahit - Pasar Anyar - Pancur. By this route, the trip will take about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the beach location.

Second, you can use a landline - sea through Benculuk. From Banyuwangi towards Benculuk is the extent of about 35 kilometers. From Benculuk, you need to go Grajagan and then hire a speed boat to the location of Banyuwangi Plengkung Beach.
