Red Island is a beach and attractions in District Pesanggaran, Banyuwangi. This beach is known as a small green hill red landless situated near the beach. This hill can be visited on foot at low tide. There are also temples where citizens are Hindu ceremony there Mekiyis. This tourist area is managed by Perum Perhutani Unit II East Java, South Banyuwangi KPH.
In the 1990s, the Red Island neighborhood ever hit severely damaged by the tsunami. At the end of 2012, Banyuwangi regency has introduced Red Island Beach to the international community through the organization of the event the bicycle race "Tour de Ijen Banyuwangi". Red Pulo name refers to a small hill on the edge of the beach which has a height of about 200 meters. The hill has a red ground and covered by green vegetation so it does not appear the original color. This hill can be accessed during low tide.
Red Pulo white sandy beach stretches along three kilometers so it is also suitable for families. However, the waves of the Red Pulo high enough not be suitable for use to swim, especially for small children.
Red Pulo waves in the region is quite challenging and became one of the ideal places for fans of the sport of surfing. Waves on the beach is quite high ranging from 3-5 meters and is suitable for lovers of surfing (surf). President INSA or the Association of Surfing Indonesia, Jro Made Supatra Karang, said that the scenery and waves in the tourist area of Red Island is one of the best in Indonesia.
Travel route to the Red Island Beach
